Work

Research first, then the things I build, then accessibility practice, then the communications work I did before this.

2025–2026 · Tampere University and Solita

Attribution and integration labour in AI-assisted group work

What happens to authorship and workload when some people in a team use AI and some do not. The study looks at felt authorship, asymmetric attribution, and the work of integrating AI-produced material into shared output. It began as my master's thesis, supervised by Professor Markku Turunen and Jussi Okkonen, with an industry collaboration with Solita on cognitive flexibility and AI adoption in workplace workflows. The resulting paper is first-authored with both supervisors and is under review at Academic Mindtrek 2026.

COFIRD

A Finnish-Indian research and development consortium with KONE, Konecranes, Demola Global, 3D Talo Finland and Citynomadi. I coordinate parts of it, working with partners across two countries on coordination and data gathering. I coded and analysed the interview data and am writing the resulting paper with colleagues. I also built a shared collaborative-map output on the Citynomadi map API.

Tampere Accessibility Unit (TACCU) · BERT project, 2024–2026

Global mapping of assistive technologies in education

BERT, Breaking Education Barriers: Inclusion, Rehabilitation and Technology, works with the University of Rwanda and the State University of Zanzibar to strengthen East African higher education institutions on disability inclusion. I contributed to its systematic review of assistive technologies in education, with a regional focus on East Africa. The review informed the project's accessibility manual, published online, for which I designed the graphical assets and posters and wrote several pages with the project team. The review is under review at Academic Mindtrek 2026, with Teija Avellan as first author.

Virtual reality user study

I am designing a VR user study with an industrial partner. It combines usability and playtesting sessions with subjective measures and objective sensor data, so that what people report and what the sensors record can be read against each other.

Dik-dik

A game about a rover that only acts when spoken to. Speech recognition runs on the player's own machine through whisper.cpp, with no cloud dependency. Every voice command has a keyboard equivalent, enforced at the architecture level rather than added afterwards, so voice is an alternative input and never a requirement. There is no failure state. Built against the Game Accessibility Guidelines.

Over the Barriers

An accessible gaming tournament that existed before I joined it. I led the organisation and running of the 2025 edition together with a team, covering accessibility provisions, sponsor relations, participant logistics and volunteer coordination. We are writing it up as a book chapter with Pauliina Baltzar and Markku Turunen.

Tampere Accessibility Unit (TACCU)

Accessibility practice and outreach

I represent TACCU at booth demonstrations on campus and at external venues, showing visitors what accessibility means through games, simulations and 3D printed artefacts. I also review and edit teaching materials for accessibility, including adding subtitles, and I designed the graphical assets and posters for the accessibility manual and wrote several of its pages with the project team.
