About
Researcher, maker, and writer. Based in Tampere, Finland. Originally from Malawi.
I’m Moses — an HCI researcher finishing a Master’s in Sustainable Digital Life at Tampere University, where I’m part of the Pervasive Interaction Research Group (PIRG). My research sits at the intersection of human-AI collaboration, accessibility, and technology adoption.
Before moving to Finland in 2024, I spent three years as Marketing Manager at Beehive Centre for Social Enterprises in Malawi, where I built the digital identities of four schools from scratch — websites, social media, email systems, brand guides — and ran a grand opening for 1,500 people including a Cabinet Minister. Before that, an undergraduate in Public Relations, a stint with the International Bureau of Epilepsy as a communications consultant, and a podcast on epilepsy lived experience.
I came to HCI research because I got tired of watching organisations build things for communities without talking to those communities first. The research is the practice I needed to put words to what I’d already been doing.
Things I’m working on
Right now I’m finishing my Master’s thesis — Exploring Socio-Cognitive Friction and Interactional Dynamics for Agentic AI Integration in Multi-User Environments — in collaboration with Solita. I’m also writing a paper on accessible esports event design based on the Over the Barriers tournament I led at Nokia Arena, which is under review at Academic Mindtrek 2026.
Outside the work
I make games when I can find a jam. I take photos. I volunteer — currently serving on the boards of ESN Tampere, Access Guild, and the UN Association of Tampere. I’m learning to navigate Finnish winters and Finnish bureaucracy at roughly the same pace.
This site is where I document the journey. The research, the projects, the learning curves, the things that don’t fit neatly in a CV.
